“To help nurture students’ independence and passion for Chinese music, Galaxy Arts Center Director, Mr. Yuning Pu, encourages students to form an entirely student-run community service group. Reaching out to the community, introducing Chinese culture, organizing events, and filming/recording are all responsibilities of these students. Mr. Pu hopes to help group members develop work efficiency, positive and focused attitudes, and passionate dedications to their extracurricular commitments. For the past three years, these students worked together to perform at the Atria Senior Center, establishing a great reputation and successfully bringing together Chinese music and Western tastes. The senior citizens enjoy the students’ performances and passion, becoming a warm and welcoming audience for these young musicians. From these monthly performances, the students gained confidence and leadership on the stage, developed their improvisation skills, and improved their musical techniques. We hope to continue this activity in the years to come. “
